The City of Austin Watershed Protection department needed to create awareness about non-point source pollution that citizens inadvertently contribute to communicate behaviors that could help keep our local environment clean. We conducted stakeholder interviews with various experts within the Austin Watershed Protection department to understand the key messages we needed to communicate within each video.

The team wanted unique videos for each initiative—Austin Parks & Recreation’s Scoop the Poop campaign, Grow Green for their gardening education program that promotes sustainable landscaping practices, and Pollution Prevention & Reduction messaging for their Environmental Monitoring and Compliance team. To maximize engagement, we created fun videos with messages and visual assets that the city has applied to other media touch points.

"Be Like Bud” for the Grow Green initiative has won the 2023 Marcom Platinum award for excellence in marketing and communication, and the “The Poopetrators” for the Scoop the Poop initiative has won the 2023 Marcom Gold award. The entire campaign won a bronze 2023 American Advertising Awards “ADDY” from the American Advertising Federation Austin and the 2023 Vega Digital award for Environmental Awareness.
