The London Business School asked us to create the marketing and event materials around their 2015 & 2016 TEDx talks held in London. The previous designs for school’s TEDx talk materials didn’t closely follow the TED brand guidelines. Together with the new student marketing team, we ensured that all materials adhered to the TED brand standards while still creating a unique look for each talk’s theme.
The 2016 talk was called CTRL ALT DEL and centered around systems in need of change and the challenge of beginning again. We sourced photography and created promotional videos to post on the school’s social media channels. In addition to the website , event collateral and signage design, we created motion graphics with the theme logo and speaker names for use as each speaker was introduced to the stage

The 2015 talk, Kaleidoscope, was about seeing the familiar in a new way. The logo we created for the event was inspired by the famous 30 St Mary Axe building, the “Gherkin” in the financial district of London. We took the diamond shapes of the window panes and shifted them as if they shattered. We applied the shifted shapes from the event logo to photography of iconic London locations.
The talk kicked-off with a video we created that was inspired by the Greek origins of the word: beauty (kalos), shape (eidos) and examine (scope). We shot in and around Chicago and reached out to filmmakers around the world to donate footage for our visual triptych. We received footage from London, Paris, Singapore, Hawaii, California, Miami, Brooklyn and Spain.
We worked closely with a post-production house and SFX studio to create motion graphics out of our logo to help introduce each speaker to the stage.
